LAWRENCE F. SCHILLER is Of Counsel to the Firm. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1982 following admission to the Ohio Bar (1976) and the Missouri Bar (1979). He received his B.A. from Oberlin College in 1969 and his J.D. from the Ohio State University College of Law in 1976. He received a Masters of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) from The Citadel in 1973.

Mr. Schiller has authored "Proposed ERISA Vesting Regulations: Not What They Seem To Be" in the Journal of Corporation Law (1981), which was cited by the U.S. Supreme Court in Alessi v. Raybestos-Manhattan, Inc., 451 U.S. 503, 513 fn. 10 (1981). He also has authored pension articles that have appeared in the Michigan Tax Lawyer (published by the Section of Taxation of the State Bar of Michigan), in Laches (the journal of the Oakland County Bar Association) and in Michigan Forward (published by the Michigan Chamber of Commerce), and has served as Employee Benefits Current Developments Editor for the Tax Lawyer (published by the Taxation Section of the American Bar Association).

Mr. Schiller is a member of the Employee Benefits Committee of the Section of Taxation of the State Bar of Michigan (where he served as chair from 1999-2001), the Employee Benefits Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association (where he served as chair from 1997-1999), and the Michigan Employee Benefits Council (where he served as chair from 1999-2001). He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Michigan, Southern District of Ohio, and the Western District of Missouri, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. His memberships include The State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, the Michigan Employee Benefits Council and the American Bar Association.

Mr. Schiller's primary concentration areas include Employee Benefits, ERISA, Pension and Profit Sharing Plans, Tax-Qualified Retirement Plans and Executive Compensation Law.
