KATHRYN GILSON SUSSMAN is a shareholder of the firm. She was admitted to the Michigan State Bar in 1976. She was also admitted to the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. Tax Court. She received her B.A. in 1973 and her J.D. in 1976 from the University of Michigan prior to receiving her LL.M. in Taxation in 1982. Mrs. Sussman has been a lecturer for the Chartered Life Underwriter Programs in Estate Planning and Financial Planning through Lawrence Technological University. Her memberships include the Sections on Taxation, Corporation, Finance, and Business Law of the State Bar of Michigan; the American Bar Association; Oakland County Women's Bar Association, and National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Mrs. Sussman has been recognized as a 2012 Michigan Super Lawyer. Her primary concentration areas include Estate Planning Law, Non-Profit Organizations, Probate Law, and Elder Law.
