JOSEPH H. WENER was admitted to the Bar of the Province of Ontario, Canada in 1986 and the State Bar of Michigan and U.S. District Court (E.D. Michigan) in 1998. He is currently licensed to practice in both Ontario and Michigan.

Mr. Wener received a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (in Environmental Resources Management) with Honors from the University of Waterloo (1981); he holds both a Bachelor of Common Laws from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law (1984) and a Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (1997).

With experience in both Canada and the U.S., Mr. Wener has practised extensively in the area of residential and commercial real estate transactions (acquisitions/sales, leasing and finance), representing individuals, corporate clients and national institutional lenders. He has regularly closed or supervised closings for commercial asset and mortgage-backed conduit loans of various sizes and property types (including office, multifamily, manufactured homes and industrial), as well as construction and inventory facilities. He was also instrumental in the development of an advanced loan transaction management and document automation software application currently in use by lenders and law firms engaged in securitized lending.

In addition to real estate, Mr. Wener's practice experience includes general corporate and business law, with an emphasis on commercial contracts and transactions, as well as counseling business and banking clients with respect to licensing, compliance and various cross-border matters.

He is a member of the Business and Real Estate Sections of the American Bar Association and State Bar of Michigan, Law Society of Upper Canada and Tau Epsilon Rho Law Society. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Men's Club of Adat Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

His primary concentration areas include Real Estate Law, Corporate and Business Law, Commercial Transactions and issues pertaining to or involving Canadian Law.
