CHRISTOPHER M. WILLIAMS was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2000 and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan. He received his B.A. Degree, magna cum laude, from North Park College in 1996 and his J.D. from the University of Washington in 1999.
In addition to being a member of the State Bar of Michigan, he is also a member of the Real Property Law, Business Law, and Litigation sections of the State Bar and is a member of the Real Property Law Section's special committees on Commercial Real Estate Finance, Title and Conveyancing, and State and Local Taxation.
Mr. Williams writes frequently on Michigan real estate issues at www.realestatelawinmichigan.com and also speaks to the public and professional groups on a variety of legal matters. He has lectured on the following: "Property Tax Appeals" given May 28, 2009 to the State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section Residential Transactions Committee; "Appealing Property Tax Assessments in the State of Michigan" given May 27, 2009 at a continuing education seminar for certified public accountants; "A New Exception to the Tax on Cancellation of Debt Income: Qualified Principal Residence Indebtedness" given October 27, 2008 at a continuing education seminar for certified public accountants; and "Understanding the Uncapping of Taxable Value in Michigan Real Estate Transfers" given December 12, 2006 at a continuing education seminar for certified public accountants.
Mr. Williams specializes in Real Estate Law, Business Law, and Litigation. He represents businesses and individuals in legal transactions and in court with an emphasis on complex real estate and business issues.
