AMBER L. SLUSSER was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1993. She received her BA in English from Oakland University in 1990 and her JD from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1993.

Ms. Slusser is a member of the Computer Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the Computer Law Association and the Women's Bar Association, Oakland County Chapter. Ms. Slusser specializes in the areas of information technology law, general corporate law and employment law.

Ms. Slusser began practicing information technology law while working as an associate attorney for the European division of Computer Sciences Corporation based in London, England. Ms. Slusser provided counsel to CSC senior management on legal issues affecting CSC operations in Europe. Ms. Slusser worked extensively on the negotiation and drafting of a multi-million dollar hardware maintenance subcontract between CSC and a supplier providing services to CSC customers throughout Europe. Ms. Slusser also negotiated and drafted a wide range of agreements on behalf of the European division, including software marketing and distribution agreements, license agreements, maintenance subcontracts and consulting service contracts.

Upon her return to the United States, Ms. Slusser was appointed to the position of division counsel with the CSC Healthcare Group, a subsidiary of Computer Sciences Corporation, which offers software products and services to the healthcare industry. As division counsel with CSC, Ms. Slusser negotiated multi-million dollar outsourcing agreements, facilities management agreements, software license agreements and consulting service contracts. As the sole attorney handling all legal issues related to the operation of the CSC Healthcare Group she was also involved in asset acquisitions and divestitures, employee issues and the management of outside counsel. In addition, Ms. Slusser dealt directly with executive management in advising on the legal aspects of the corporate business strategy.

Most recently, Ms. Slusser was a member of a small team of lawyers who represented the Detroit Public Schools in negotiating the outsourcing of their information technology department to Compuware Corporation.

Today, Ms. Slusser leads the information technology practice at Couzens, Lansky from their office in Farmington Hills. She counsels large global corporations as well as Michigan based IT companies and Internet start-ups on a broad range of legal issues including, the negotiation and drafting of software development agreements, license agreements, software marketing and distribution agreements, hardware and software subcontracts and confidentiality agreements. In addition, she advises Internet start-ups and other emerging IT businesses in their business planning and operational stages, including advice for effective protection of intellectual property.

Ms. Slusser's primary concentration areas include Computer Technology Law, Intellectual Property, Corporate Law and Employment Law.
